Katerina has survived two long term relationships one of 10 years and the other 9 years. Her first partner passed away from Leukemia while her last one died of an overdose. Katerina understands the trauma of not only losing loved ones but also the daily challenges that a transwoman faces during relationships and everything life as a transwoman pertains. Katerina also has a vast experience on how transwomen carry themselves in Corporate spaces to be seen and respected. She is an advocate for transgender people in the community and guides many young trans people to creating safe spaces and having a normal and successul life with family, personal relations, and religious communities in Auckland.

Lailoa possesses over twenty years of experience in social work, beginning her career as a community social worker after earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. She advanced to the position of Practice Leader in an NGO in Auckland before moving to Brisbane, where she served as a Senior Child Safety Officer within the Queensland Government’s Department of Child Protection. Her extensive contributions to social work, both domestically and internationally, have established her as a respected figure among her peers and local authorities. In 2024 she completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Cross Cultural Supervision and worked as an Advanced Clinician social worker in the community for Counties Manukau. Lailoa is committed to fostering community support and implementing improvement plans to enhance stability and productivity within families and communities.
